Making complex operations work better

The work

At Drees Homes, I manage detailed financial and operational workflows supporting residential construction across multiple communities. My work involves more than 70 vendors and trade partners, as well as colleagues in construction, purchasing, accounting, and architecture.

My responsibilities

I reconcile costs, investigate pricing discrepancies, coordinate purchase orders and change orders, support vendor onboarding, and help resolve issues that cross departmental boundaries. I also work with Excel-based tools and process improvements to make reconciliation more consistent and efficient.

What matters

When information is inconsistent, the effects rarely stop with one spreadsheet or one department. I focus on understanding where a discrepancy began, who needs to be involved, and how to reach an accurate resolution. Much of the value of this work lies in preventing small problems from becoming larger ones.

What I bring forward

This experience has strengthened my judgment about financial accuracy, process design, and stakeholder relationships. It has also shown me that dependable operations rely on clear ownership, good information, and sustained follow-through.
